Give up the ghost, EPA.
Dredging is only redistributing the PCB's
causing more harm than good.

Reallocate the billion or so dollars, and
jobs, to rebuilding the aging water/sewer
systems of downriver cities, including
Troy, Cohoes, Watervliet, Albany and
Rensselaer.

End the PCB Hudson River PCB dredging
boondoggle now! Dredging up sediments
from the river bottom only increases the
amount and downstream distribution of
waterborne PCB's.

Leave the sediments be. Don't waste
another dime on a futile "clean up" project.

Reallocate the half billion, or more, dollars
and all the labor/effort, to rebuilding and
improving the aging water/sewer systems
of downstream cities like, Troy, Cohoes,
Watervliet, Albany and Rensselaer.

Just as this website predicted. Project
shut down.

Scrap the project and reallocate the
billion dollars to rebuilding aging
water/sewer systems in Albany, Troy
Cohoes, Watervliet and other down
stream communities, just as we urged.

WATER AND AIR POLLUTION: SMART GROWTH

Dredging of the Hudson River to "clean up"
PCB contamination has begun.

A major political blunder that will cost a
billion or more dollars, and only make matters
worse.

This mess can't be "cleaned up". Best to let the
PCB's in river bottom sediments alone.

Disturbing the PCB"s trapped in river sediments
will only cause more water pollution downstream
and add to air pollution in the Capitol District, as
sediments are placed on land, dry out and become
airborne.

The billion or so, and six years make work jobs
would be better spent on rebuilding the aging water
and sewer sytems of Albany, Troy, Watervliet
Cohoes and other downstream cities.

When the gas becomes too expensive, or not
available at all, the ozone problem will be diminish.

Populations will be forced to return to the cities.
The cities must be prepared to accommodate
population growth in the coming decade.

Start now, by rebuilding water/sewer and other
urban infrastructure, as well as revitalizing
neighborhoods, that contain neighborhood
schools and churches.

Work with the Diocese of Albany to rescind church
and school closings in Albany, Troy, Watervliet and
Cohoes.

Now, that is Smart Growth!
