                         SULLIVAN: OBAMA'S CONSUMER OIL REBATE
AND WINDFALL PROFITS TAX NOT THE ANSWER

Joseph P Sullivan, of Albany, Democratic candidate for Congress, 21st District, said , today, that Democratic Presidential candidate Obama's plan for the federal
government to provide voters with a $1,000 home heating subsidy, this coming winter heating season,  and to finance that  subsidy by a windfall profits tax on oil company profits, is not the answer.

Oil companies would  simply pass along the tax to consumers in the form of higher
home heating oil prices. Furthermore, by the time a new President and Congress get seated and organized, winter will be over. Obama's proposal does not address the other major source of home heating- natural gas. Regardless, the same result would occur: natural gas utilities would simply pass along any tax to consumers in the form of still higher prices.

So, what is the solution?  We are on our own and can not rely on government to save us!  Here are a few ideas to save heating costs and survive winter cold:

(1) Homeowners should prepare for winter now, and figure out how they will pay for higher home heating fuel costs. Conservation is a big part of that endeavor.

 (2) urban school districts should immediately return to K-8 neighborhood schools to eliminate fuel costs associated with bussing. Those funds should be reallocated to pay for costs of heating school buildings.

 (3) Schools and religious institutions, should prepare to serve as warm shelters for those who find themselves unable to afford escalating home heating costs.

(4) Government heat subsidy programs , such as HEAP, should be amended to require recipients to practice conservation measures, and thermostats be set with
regulated daytime/nightime settings.  Any recipients who fail to comply with conservation measures, and who persist in leaving windows and doors wide open while the heat is on, would loose their heat subsidy.

(5) Thermostats should be set at lower temperatures in all government buildings,
schools, religious institutions, work places and all public buildings.

(6) Break out the woolies and extra blankets.

In short, plan ahead, or pay (more) later.

ALBANY HAS A NEW HERO - DEMOGUY

Albany has a new hero .....DEMOGUY ...  a real man!   Demoguy
has no fear of pant suit wearing, pro choice feminists.

Demoguy can leap  huge piles of political horses...  in a single bound.

Demoguy is a US Navy Veteran , not a draft dodger or left wing
appeaser, like the other candidates in the 21st District race.

Demoguy tells it like it is:  On withdrawing the troops from Iraq- we
owe it those who have given their lives and limbs, to finish the job.
We owe it to the Iraqi and Afghan people, and our best ally..Israel
to remain on station in the Middle East.
Don't cut and run when we have Al Qaida on the ropes...finish the job!

Get over it! The troops aren't coming home...until you oil sucking
left wing appeasers break your dependency on imported oil.

Time for oil rehab. Coal is coming back!

Vote DEMOGUY for Congress, 21st District, NY.

Elect DEMOGUY and the USA will kick Ass, just like we used to.

PELOSI/REID MUST GO. STOP THE HUDSON RIVER PCB DREDGING!

SULLIVAN SAYS: PELOSI AND REID MUST GO.
STOP THE HUDSON RIVER PCB DREDGING PLAN

Joseph P Sullivan, of Albany, Democratic candidate for the 21st Congressional District seat of retiring Representative, Mike McNulty,  made a cameo appearance
today, on Classy Rich Vassi's, Sunday morning WROW radio talk show (9-11 am).

Sullivan called in responding to Vassi's comment that 21st District voters should not elect a Democrat to Congress because it would ensure re-election of Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House. Pelosi has opposed off shore oil drilling.

Vassi welcomed Sullivan's call, and declared that all 21st and 20th Congressional District candidates would be given equal time. Vassi made a giant step forward in
campaign reform.

Sullivan declared the following:

      1. He would not vote for Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House.

Both Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, must go.
They are major reasons for the dyfunctional, ineffective performance
of Congress, which has a 9 percent public approval rating.

      2. Offshore oil drilling and renewed of our nation's vast coal reserves
must  begin  now, without further delay.

      3. There should be an immediate stop order on plans to dredge Hudson
           River PCB's.

Let sleeping dogs lie. Disturbing the sediment capped pcb's will
only create more pollution, in the Hudson River, and on land and in the
          air of the Capital District.

"Cleaning" up the Hudson River PCB's is akin to trying to clean up
the Yucca Flats, Nevada spent nuclear waste site. Neither can be
           effectively and safely "cleaned".

      4. Sullivan said: divert the billions of dollars to be spent on the pcb dredging
project to rebuilding the aging water/sewer infrastructures of Albany,
Troy, Schenectady and other Capital District communities.

The Democratic Primary will be held Noon - 9 pm, Tuesday, September 9, 2008.

August 15 is the deadline for new voters to register and enroll as Democrats, so that they might participate in the September 9 primary.

THAT CHICK DON'T GET IT! TRACEY BROOKS, PRO-CHOICE OR POOR CHOICE?

                             THAT CHICK DON'T GET IT!

The following is an analysis of a slick (but not smart) brochure
which 21st District voters received in the mail today.

1.  Sexist message: "Those guys won't change anything"

2. Only 3 guys in picture. The 4th   Demoguy is missing. Can you
guess which one is missing? Hint the  guy with a white
beard,  the only veteran in the race,,  and the only one
of the 4 (TB included) who has a website with a platform
     of substance.

3. Timing is everything in politics. TB's mailer is premature. She
is counting the vet  out before his petition is thrown out. Maybe
she knows the fix is in, ...and she is a party to the deed?

4. TB appears to be wearing one of Hillary's cast off campaign
     iron pants suits.

5. Change? There is no change here and no message of substance.

6. TB claims touts her Catholic Charities work experience, while
also claiming to be pro-choice. That will ge her the Catholic vote?

TB is not pro-choice because  she does not defend a voter's
    right to choose.

She also says she will guarantee access to health care for all
    (excluding the aborted).

Tracey Brooks  more political BS to the people again.

SULLIVAN CANDIDATE FOR CONGRESS, NOT CASH

CANDIDATES FOR CASH? OR FOR CONGRESS?

Joseph P Sullivan, of Albany, Democratic candidate for Congress, 21st District
said , today, that media coverage of the 21st district contest, thus far, has been
obsessed with a cash count.

Sullivan is not a candidate for cash, he is a candidate for Congress and is focused
on issues vital to our survival as individuals, families, communities and a nation.

Go to Sullivan's website:  (click on)  http://journals.aol.com/lonerangeralbany/lonerangeralbany/

Compare Sullivan's website content with that of other candidates in the
September 9 Democratic Primary.

Also, read the  The Albany Project summation of  the JCC candidate forum held July  17:

Campaign reform is easy, said Sullivan. Candidates can do their part- don't take the money...simply post their positions on critical campaign issues.

The Media can publish candidate websites, for the benefit of those that have
computers. The Media can summarize the content of those websites, for the benefit of voters who do not have computers. (The majority).

Voters can then make the effort to become as fully informed as possible; and
cast informed votes for the best candidate to represent the interests of 21st District voters in Congress. They can pass the word to family, neighbors and friends.

The Primary is Tuesday, September 9.  Polls will be open Noon to 9 pm.
Be there!
