SHEEHAN PANS
CITY BUDGET ?
http://www.timesunion.com/local/article/Sheehan-pans-proposed-city-budget-4874267.php
Mayor Jennings deserves praise
not scorn for his 2014 City Budget
proposal which cuts expenses and
spending, no property tax increase
for homeowners, no lay offs of City
workers and 8 million dollars in
the bank.
Sheehan says it is a "terrible budget"
but offers no constructive alternative.
Computerizing employee time sheets
is a job for a time keeper, not a Mayor.
Albany voters deserve to know what
a Sheehan budget would look like
before the November 5 election.
Sheehan left open the option that
if elected, she would go before
Governor Cuomo's Financial
Restructuring Board.
To do so would essentially make
the City of Albany a ward of the
state and throw public employee
unions under the bus regarding
binding arbitration.
The next Mayor of Albany has
to be a leader who will not sell
out city residents and public
employees to a panel controlled
by the Governor.
Dan O' Connell would never
have done so. Nor will
Joseph P Sullivan, as Mayor.
Mayor Jennings will be a welcome
and vital partner in a Sullivan
administration in City Hall.
As Mayor Emeritus, Jennings
will serve as liaison to the
Governor, State Legislature
and NY Congressional Delegation
to obtain the PILOTS due on
city lands occupied by the
State, including the Harriman
State Office Campus; and to
obtain relief from state and
federal unfunded mandates
that negatively impact the
City and city schools.
Mayor Jennings will serve
as liaison with the city schools
and State Education Department
with the aim of consolidating
the city schools with the city
government, creating one
property tax roll to fund both
returning to a K-8 neighborhood
school system and making the Mayor
responsible/accountable for the
functioning and performance of
the city schools. In addition, Mayor
Emeritus Jennings will be charged
with developing an urban curriculum
that addresses the needs of city
students, including a meaningful
adult education program.
Mayor Emeritus Jennings will
preside at most public functions
and retain his weekly radio show
on Talk 1300.
Sheehan can snipe at Jennings.
She can tout her boundaryless
management style, but in the
final analysis, Sheehan offers
no real solutions to the issues
vital to the survival of the City
of Albany and all who call
Albany home.
Security/Public Safety,
Emergency/Disaster Preparedness
Education, Energy and property
tax relief are all addressed in
detail by yours truly.
Straight talk. No vague political
speak here!
Sullivan recognizes and values
the life time of service of Jerry
Jennings to the City and people
of Albany.
A vote for Sullivan. November 5
is a vote to keep Jerry Jennings
working for you

TONKO VOTES NO
FOR VETERANS
Congressman Paul Tonko voted NO
on HJ Resolution 72 a CR to fund
veteran's benefits through December
2013.
33 House Democrats voted yes with
House Republicans. The vote was
264 yea to 164 nay(Democrats including
Tonko and others in the NY Delegation)
The Resolution failed because House
Rules require a 2/3 majority vote for
passage.
Here is the roll call vote:
http://www.govtrack.us/congress/votes/113-2013/h506
How would Senators Schumer and
Gillibrand have voted?
President Obama is on record as
declaring he would veto the CR
if it reached his desk.
The irony of all this is that the CR
is by sense of the House also known
as H.J "Honoring Our Promise to
America;s Veterans Act"
Tonko never served a day in the
military, Nor did Schumer, Gillibrand
or Obama.
Tonko has endorsed Kathy Sheehan
for Mayor of Albany.
No rebuke for Tonko forthcoming
from Kathy Sheehan.
Honoring Our Promise to American
Veterans means nothing to all of
the above Democrats.
How can Albany Democrats tow
the party line for those who put party
allegiance before America and the
patriot veterans who have
served America and all of us?
We have a VA Hospital in Albany
because of Dan O'Connell.
The Democratic Party of today
is not the Democratic Party of
Dan O'Connell.
Dan served in the U S Navy in
WW1.

SULLIVAN OPPOSES
LAND BANKS AND
2013 HUD HOUSING
REGULATION
Joseph P Sullivan Conservative candidate
(ROW C) for Albany Mayor in the November
5 General Election opposes Land Banks
and the 2013 HUD (federal) housing regs
"Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing".
Land Banks erode private property rights
and vest neighborhood revitalization efforts
in political appointees who are not accountable
to neighborhood residents. Fraud and
corruption can result.
The 2013 Federal Housing and Urban
Development agency (HUD) Affirmatively
Furthering Fair Housing Regulations will
override local zoning authority and destroy
the city property tax base.

The Section 8 Housing Program is a
major factor in the blight of one
neighborhood, after another, in the City
of Albany.
Section 8 is a major factor in erosion
of the city property tax base.
Get the Federal government out of
education, housing, zoning and land
use decision making. These are local
and state prerogatives to be addressed
by local public officials elected by , and
accountable to, local residents.
Kathy Sheehan the Democratic-Working
Families Party candidate advocates
a Land Bank and will support the HUD
Regulations.
The most pressing neighborhood needs
in the City of Albany are:
1. Security and public safety
2. Strict enforcement of city speed
limits in residential neighborhoods
and cracking down on running
red lights and stop signs.
3. Reduction and elimination of
road salt dumping on city
streets.
4. Improved snow plowing, snow
removal in residential neighborhoods.

IDEOLOGICAL CRUSADE?
President Obama complains that
opponents of Obamacare are waging
an "ideological crusade" against
his unaffordable care act.
Interesting choice of words by Obama
who supported the Muslim Brotherhood
in Egypt , and who is spending hundreds
of millions of dollars to arm the al Qaida
in Syria.
Obama is supporting this real world
ideological crusade which has the
declared aim of world subordination
to Islam.
