ENERGY IS ESSENTIAL
TO OUR ECONOMY AND
WAY OF LIFE.
Energy is in the sights of activists,
the media, politicians, and government
regulators.
The emphasis is on public safety and
more government regulations.
Here are a few examples from the
media this past week or so:

http://www.timesunion.com/business/article/Oil-refinery-emission-rules-tighten-in-plan-5482014.php

http://www.timesunion.com/business/article/Coal-investments-a-bad-bet-for-state-pensions-5464524.php
To be sure public safety is a legitimate
concern, but beware of more government
regulations and policies which stifle
economic development and adversely
effect our way of life.
It can be argued that government
over regulation and flawed policies
are the root cause of of the problems
which are the subjects of the above
media examples.
The President has blocked approval
of the Keystone pipeline resulting in
oil train shipments and public safety
concerns.
Coal is a bad financial bet because
his administration has set out to
destroy the coal industry and shut
down coal burning power generating
plants.
Government polices and regulations
are a root cause of ever increasing
costs for electricity, gasoline and
heating oil.
Let us have more truthful and
balanced media coverage of these
energy issues and the negative
impacts of flawed government
policies and over regulation by
career government bureaucrats
whose jobs are dependent on
drafting more and more regulations.
The media must not be a arm
of the politicians and political
parties that control government.
Congress and state legislatures
must exercise more oversight and
control of executive agencies at
both levels.
