Note-

30 DAYS TO THE 9/15/09 DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY

Read my earlier post : Signs of The Times

Update:

my opponent, a 12 year incumbent in Ward 14
has about 37 lawn signs up.

Ward 14 is the only Uptown Ward with a
Democratic Primary for Member of Common Council.

Political lawn signs are absent from the vast majority
of household lawns in Ward 14. Ward 14 voters are
a smart lot who will vote the way they want!

I chose to allocate the money ,I would have paid for
lawn signs, toward my school property tax bill, which
will arrive shortly.

I may not have signs, but I have:

* a 22 year leadership record of achievement
benefitting neighborhood/ward residents, as
President of the Buckingham Pond/Crestwood
Neighborhood Association.

* years of postings on issues vital to the futures
of this neighborhood, ward , the City of Albany
and to the futures of all who call these
geopolitical entities home.

Refer to postings/archives of Lonerangeralbany
and http://bpcnanews.blogspot.com/

My platform, experience, issues, leadership
accomplishments and view on issues can be
found by exploring both of the above websites.

I am the only Democrat in the September 15
Primary that:

* advocates property tax relief and improved
schools by consolidating city schools with City
government, establishing ONE property tax
roll to support both, and return Albany to
a K-8 neighborhood school system.

As Councilman from Ward 14, I will sponsor
and advance the necessary Home Rule request
to the State Legislature, to so amend state laws.

* pledged to support the U S Constitution and

in particular, the First and Second Amendments.

I have handdelivered my literature and issues
platform to almost all residential units in Ward
14, except for some apartments, including Ohav
Shalom Senior Apartments and apartments
along Western Ave, South Allen St.

I am a U.S Navy Veteran. The only military
veteran among the incumbents/challengers in
the City of Albany Democratic Primaries.

By training, I am a Professional Geographer

* BS, U Wisconsin (Korean GI Bill)

*MA, U Minnesota (National Fellowship)

So, all that remains is for informed Democrats
in Ward 14 (about 3,400) to go to the polls and
vote, Sullivan for Member of Common Council
Ward 14... Democratic Primary, Tuesday
September 15, Noon to 9 pm.

Thank you!

Eligible absentee voters, including military
voters, may vote by absentee/military ballots.

New voters or voters who have moved into
Ward 14 have until August 21 to register to
vote or change your voting address. to be
eligible to vote in the September 15 Primary.

Contact the Albany County Board of Elections
for further details. Do so immediately.

I'd love to see them take it; my guess is that the older politicians might pass, but not the Cory Ellis' of Albany.
