SOCIAL SECURITY COLA FOR U S SENIORS, NO
2 BILLION DOLLARS US AID TO BRAZIL, SI

Joseph P Sullivan, Democratic candidate for Albany Common
Council, Ward 14, today, denounced the Obama Administration
decision denying social security colas for the next two years
while at the same time providing 2 billion dollars in aid to
Brazil's national petroleum company to drill for oil offshore of
Rio De Janeiro.

This decision hurts senior citizens at a time when the costs
of food, electricity, oil, natural gas, and school/city property
taxes continue to spiral out of sight, said Sullivan.

How can the U S Government deny seniors social security
colas while providing Brazil's national petroleum company
2 billion dollars aid to drill for oil offshore of Rio De Janiero
asked Sullivan?

Worse yet, George Soros, is the largest shareholder in
Petrobas.

Our leaders have lost their way, said Sullivan.

While Sullivan is running for a city ward seat, he said
when going door to door, voters have asked him his
views on the social security cola decision and the
federal government's health care reform legislation.

There are a lot of seniors in Ward 14, including
homeowners and those that live in apartments
like Ohav Shalom, Stonehenge and those on
South Allen St/Western Ave.

If federal and state officeholders won't speak up
regarding these issues, who will, asked Sullivan?

Sullivan is a senior citizen, himself, and as one
and a prospective Member of the Common Council
Sullivan said he is obligated to speak up regarding
these issues.

Sullivan was a Democratic candidate for Congress
21st District in the 2008 Democratic Primary.

I agree with you, but Social Security is "NOT" a valid issue for a City of Albany Councilman!!!!
