AMERICAN CIVIC LITERACY?

Blogger Albany Citizen One (ACO) has done
a huge public service by calling our attention
to the Intercollegiate Studies Institute (ISI) and
their American Civic Literacy Quiz.

The ISI summary report is a red flag for
the future of America.

71% of Americans who take this civics quiz
fail it (The First Time). After numerous
retakes of the same quiz, the number passing
significantly increases, as does their scores.

This illustrates how teaching (drilling) for
tests improves student scores in our schools.
But, critical thinking and analytical skills
are not developed.

Read ISI summary report:

I would agree with ACO that all candidates
for office in the September Democratic
Primaries and November General Election
should take the ISI civics quiz. I would add
that they should report their first time scores.

Likewise, all voters should take the ISI quiz.

The media as well.

We have lost our way in America, and it will
not be very long before we lose America and
the form of government, and way of life that
we take for granted.

Shape up candidates and voters!

Hey, there can be no literacy in Albany schools because of section eight.
